Rindu Alam - Puncak

Hi...first of all I have to say sorry about the quality of the pictures on this post. My camera's battery were flat, so we took all these pictures by phone.

This article is actually part of the story of our trip to the Safari Park Cisarua some time ago. After traveled to the Safari Park, we decided to spend the night at Puncak because we were so exhausted.

Well, on the way back to Jakarta, we took time to stop by Rindu Alam Restaurant, located at Jalan Raya Puncak. This restaurant is one of the icon at Puncak area and already very well-known since a long time ago. It is strategically located and has a spectacular view. Other than that the food was varied and tempting.

Arriving at the location of the restaurant, I was brought back to my childhood nostalgic where I used to come here with my late Grandparents. It used to be our favourite pit stop. This time I was bringing my own family here.

The view from the parking lot besides the restaurant

Entering the area in the restaurant, I saw not many changes to the interior and furnishings, still as of yore. Apparently the restaurant owners still want to keep the nostalgic feel of the restaurant especially for its loyal customers.

The restaurant was very crowded that day because we arrived there during lunch time. This were what we ordered that day :

Their best seller "Ayam Goreng Rindu Alam" (Rindu Alam Fried Chicken)..although it looked and tasted like steamed chicken to me, but it was fantastic!!

The "Udang Bakar Kecap" (dark soy sauce grilled prawn). Don't judge a book from it's cover! The presentation might be messy but the taste won't mess up your day. It was very well cooked.

"Kangkung cah Belacan" (Sautee Water Cress with Indonesian style shrimp paste). Unfortunately it was a little bit under cooked and I guess the chef has forgotten to add some salt.

 A compliment chili dipping

Ice Cream stand that was serving non-stop. Orders were keep flowing in.

A very friendly and talented Ice cream lady

Ta da...the best seller Banana Split. It was a very nostalgic flavour. A real childhood ice cream taste.

If any of you go to Puncak for holiday, take some time and make some short trip to this restaurant to try their food, especially the chicken. You will not regret it. The price ranges from IDR35,000 - IDR 85,000. And one more very important thing, the toilet is quite clean!

See ya..
