Le Monde au Balcon - French cuisine

Incredibly shockingly inexpensive scrumptious French cuisine in Central Jakarta, Le Monde Au Balcon

Allo mes amis!

Adventures in finding a good place to eat is always very exciting. In Jakarta alone there are thousands of places to eat that promises delicious food, good service, and of course a very competitive price. One of them, is the restaurant "Le Monde au Balcon" (meaning: The World at The Balcony), located in Thamrin Residences Apartement , 2nd floor (ruko/shop house area), Central Jakarta

A few days ago we took time to stop by there. Initially we just wanted to order dessert. But, it turned out all the desserts were not available because according to information from the staff it's hard to get ingredients for desserts these few days due to Ramadhan holiday.

Lucky for us that night was not too crowded, so we did not have to wait too long for the first dish to come out. It was quite surprising when we saw the size of the food. Usually in restaurants which serve fine dining menu, the size of the food is very small and does not seem to correspond to its expensive price. But in this restaurant the salad is so abundant. It was enough to be eaten by two adults. not only the size that was super generous the salad was very fresh and the dressings were well mixed. My wife loves it!

La Salada Du Chef IDR 55.000

While enjoying the salad, our second course Le Couscous Royal was served. Again we gasped, because the size is so large. The food presentation also looks very tempting, and frankly we have never ordered food like this before! Despite having name in French, this food is originally a Moroccan food. And this menu is the signature dish of Le Monde au Balcon. And the taste??? Absolutely scrumptious!!!
It seemed we could not stop eating. Truly exceptional dining experience. We couldn't stop praising how delicious the food was. No negative comments at all!

Le Couscous Royal IDR 120,000.

This was crazy!!!! Super delicious!!! the sausage, chicken, beef, radishes, carrots...all were so tender, juicy and blended well in your mouth. It came with a bowl of soup which is a little bit similar to our local "Sop semur" (stew) and Moroccan chili paste mixed with our local "cabe rawit" (chili padi) but it wasn't spicy.

Showing you another close up look..lol..it was incredible!!

In the middle of our meal, apparently the chef took time to come out and greet guests who visited the restaurant. His name was Chef Nabil. He was very friendly. He chatted briefly with us, asking where we came from and how was the food. We told him that the food was fantastic and very sorry that we did not have the opportunity to try the deserts that night.

Beyond our expectations, he was willing to make one desert for us if only we were willing to wait. And certainly we were! hoho ...

Apple Tarte Tatin...heavenly taste!

That night at Le Monde au Balcon, we got a truly enjoyable dining experience. Convenient and homey place (although the restaurant was not too large), friendly services (thanks to Ms. Lidya - the staff who assisted us that night), and of course fabulous tasty food. One more thing that should not be missed to be praised was the price which was very reasonable.

As usual...a picture of us in the restaurant :D

We were informed that in August, they will be serving breakfast and lunch, and of course new menus are coming up, too. We will definitely be back again to try other menus. Thanks Chef Nabil. Two thumbs up!!!
